So, I just found out that one of the young ladies at my Church is

sexually active.

She just turned 18 a few months back, but I have reason to believe that she's been sexually active since at least 2013......when she was only 15.

She'll be going to college in the fall......an HBCU.......and I'm concerned about how well she's gonna fare without any adult supervision.

My dilemna lies is the fact that I feel like I should say something to her......but I don't want her to feel embarrassed about me knowing this about her or think that I'm disappointed in her.

Obviously I'd rather her not be sexually active, but it's more a matter of concern than disappointment.

Also, considering my own faults.......I don't feel like I'm in a position to counsel her without feeling like a hypocrite.

She refers to me as "Mr (real name)" and I've pretty much watched this young lady grow up.

So, as any 46yr old churchgoing man would do.........I've come to the IC to seek counsel from my imaginary internet friends.

What should I do?

Say something........mind my business and keep quiet.......or do something totally different altogether?

This has been bothering me for the past few days and I don't want to do anything that will make the situation worse than it already is.

Everyone's input is welcome, but I suppose I need a female perspective more than anything else........being that I've never been a teenage girl before.

The perspective of any fathers with teenage daughters......or just daughters in general......would probably be helpful as well.
