A Night In Tunisia - Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker (1945)

This is one of my favorite songs of all time in any genre.

For those that don't know, Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie, along with others (Max Roach, Art Blakey, Thelonious Monk, Bud Powell, Charles Mingus, etc.) are considered the fathers of Bebop. Bebop is a style of jazz with few musicians, usually bass, drums, piano and a horn (trumpet, sax or trombone). Prior to the Bebop era jazz musicians would have these 30-40 piece Big Bands and the musicians would have to split the money 30-40 ways.

Bebop is different than Big Band jazz (or Swing) because you have fewer musicians so they can improvise in ways that a 30 piece orchestra can't. If a 30 piece orchestra tried to improvise it would sound like a hot mess. But if you only have 4 or 5 musicians if they all play in the same key and know how to count bars it can sound dope!
